*    The scope of the undertaking is understood to comprise the recognition of Certificates of Competency issued and endorsed for masters, officers and radio operators in accordance with the provisions of STCW Convention, 1978, as amended, Annex, Chapters II, III, IV and VII, as well as Certificates of Proficiency issued in accordance with the provisions of STCW Convention, 1978, as amended, Annex, Chapters V and VI;

 

 

**  Ratings are allowed to serve on Dutch flag ships when holding certificates (of proficiency) issued by the competent authority of an EU member state, EEA/EFTA member, a country of which the Netherlands recognizes the certificates pursuant to STCW Convention, Annex I, Regulation 10, or an IMO White list country (i.e. listed in MSC.1/Circ.1163/Rev.x );

 

 

*** No rights can be derived from this list, the authority to recognize a certificate remains with the administration of the Netherlands;

 

 

**** Only doctors, approved and recognized by the Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment may issue the Dutch seafarers’ medical certificate;

 

 

***** Seafarer medical certificates issued by an EU-member state or by Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland may be submitted at the application for a Dutch endorsement as well or when embarking a ship registered in the Netherlands.
