The new installation of materials that contain asbestos
is prohibited for all ships with the exception of a few special
applications dealing with very high temperatures , pressures and
compressor vanes ( from 1/7/2002 until 1/12011), and as from 1 January
2011 the new installation of materials that contain asbestos shall be
prohibited for all ships. The Dutch instruction on asbestos (for existing
and new building ships) should be followed. These requirements are
