Guidance for application of SOLAS regulation III/7, as amended bij Resolution MSC.201(81)

  1. The Maritime Safety Committee, at its eighty-sixth session (27 May to 5 June 2009), having recognized the need for clarification of the scope of application of SOLAS regulation III/7, as amended by resolution MSC.201(81), related to infant life jackets, and considering the urgency of the matter, as the date of entry into force of the aforementioned amendments is 1 July 2010, agreed that the amendments should apply to all passenger ships and invited Contracting Governments to the 1974 SOLAS Convention to apply the amendments accordingly.

  2. Member Governments are invited to bring the above information to the attention of all parties concerned.
