1          TheMaritimeSafetyCommittee,atitssixty-thirdsession(16to25May1994),instructedthe Secretariattocompile,fromtherepliesreceivedinresponsetoMSC/Circ.567/Rev.1(Information RequiredonSimulatorsavailableforuseinmaritimetraining),alistofmaritimetraininginstitutions equippedwithsimulators,toprovideasourceofinformationonavailabilityofsuchtrainingforuse byadministrations,shipownersandothers.   ThefirstlistwascirculatedbyMSC/Circ.633and subsequent information by MSC/Circ.721 and MSC/Circ.852.

 

2          TheSub-CommitteeonStandardsofTrainingandWatchkeeping(STW),atitsthirty-seventh session(23to27January2006),notingthatmanysimulatorsatexistingtraininginstitutionsmay havebeenreplacedandnewsimulatorsmayhavebeeninstalledatothertraininginstitutions,agreed that it was necessary to update the information at an early date.

 

3          TheMaritimeSafetyCommittee,atitseighty-firstsession(10to19May2006),endorsedthe corresponding  request  by  the  Sub-Committee  and  urged  Member  Governments  to  provide  the informationontheavailabilityofsimulatorsintheirtraininginstitutionsintheformatsetoutinthe annex, at an early date, to enable the Secretariat to compile an updated circular.
