NSI received notifications on misinterpretation of the application of future amendments on the IAPP supplement by some port State Control officers. Several vessels received deficiencies on certificates not to be in line with the legislation. It concerned future amendments to the IAPP supplement that need to be incorporated after the next scheduled survey. NSI stresses that in these cases the MSC-MEPC.5/Circular 6 is applicable. This circular is implemented as a policy rules in het legislative framework of the Netherlands and applies to all relevant SOLAS and MARPOL Convention requirements.
