Samenvatting

The Pollution of Surface Waters Act (Wvo) stipulates that a permit is required for the discharge of water management authorities pollutants in surface water. In order to be able to grant a Wvo permit, water managers must gain insight into the characteristics of the substances that are discharged. This report presents a general evaluation methodology to determine the harm caused to the aquatic environment by substances and preparations that is applicable within the context of the Pollution of Surface Waters Act. This general evaluation methodology can be used for all substances and preparations, regardless of the branch of industry in which they are used.
