Samenvatting

The research programme 'RIACON' was started to evaluate the risk of shoreface nourishment and subaquous sand extraction for the benthic community in marine coastal waters. In the Netherlands the RIACON project concentrates on a nourishment site off the island of Terschelling. This report gives the results of a macrobenthic survey at the borrow site, made in September 1994, almost one year afther the extraction of sand was completed. Community structure is described using TWINSPAN cluster analysis.
