1 Introduction

With reference to the Ships decree 2004, Article 40 (for ships with a PSSC or CSSC) and Article 41 (for ships with a NSC) a ship shall satisfy (amongst others) the requirements of SOLAS chapter IV applicable to that ship.

2 Application of COMSAR.1/Circ.32

In this respect the RO shall ascertain that the installation of GMDSS radio equipment complies with the requirements of COMSAR.1/Circ.32/rev.x. Where paragraph 1.3.1. of the COMSAR circular refers to 'approved' diagrams, arrangements and drawings, in line with section 2.4.3. of Annex I to the Agreement of 03 April 2014, the RO is authorised to assess and approve such documents and shall mark the documents with 'Approved on behalf of the Government of the Netherlands'.
